Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) is a premier national Institute in the country dedicated to research in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Allied Sciences & Technology, with its field stations in different locations.
The Institute offers training in Astrophysical research and instrumentation to bright young and motivated candidates who have completed their post graduation. Applications are invited from fresh post graduates who are highly motivated to pursue their research for the position:

Name of the position: RESEARCH TRAINEE
No. of Position: Two
Qualification: M.Sc. in Physics / Astronomy & Astrophysics from a recognized university with aggregate score of above 60% in both B.Sc. and M.Sc.

Age limit: Below 25 years

Tenure of position: Initially for one year extendable by two more years subject to satisfactory performance.
Consolidated Salary (inclusive of all): Rs.16000/- per month in the I year, Rs.17000/- in the II year and Rs.18000/- in the III year.

Place of posting: CREST Campus of IIA, Hoskote (Bangalore).

Job requirement: Support to Guest astronomers observing with the Himalayan Chandra Telescope through remote computer control. The job involves working through 10 nights in each month and other support activities and training during the remaining days.

Qualification: M.Sc. in Physics / Astronomy & Astrophysics from a recognized university with aggregate score of above 60% in both B.Sc. and M.Sc.
